| I'm looking for fun quotes by military leaders in the past that may be fun to throw on user profile pages or just to have some chuckles about military strategy. Any other quotes would be welcome as well.
To start things off, here is one from Sun Tzu, one of the more famous of the Chinese generals who wrote a book call "The Art of War":
If ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, divide them; if equal, be able to fight them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them. -- Sun Tzu |

| The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving on. -- Ulysses S. Grant |

| "The art of using troops is this: ......When ten to the enemy's one, surround him; ......When five times his strength, attack him; ......If double his strength, divide him; ......If equally matched you may engage him; ......If weaker numerically, be capable of withdrawing; ......And if in all respects unequal, be capable of eluding him, ..........for a small force is but booty for one more powerful." - Sun Tzu, the Art Of War | |
